Physiotherapy Services
Physiotherapists are registered health practitioners who are educated to practise autonomously by applying scientific knowledge and clinical reasoning to diagnose and manage human function.
Physiotherapists provide services to individuals and populations to develop, maintain, restore and optimise health and function throughout the lifespan. This includes providing services to people compromised by ageing, injury, disease or environmental factors. Physiotherapy identifies and maximises quality of life and movement potential by using the principles of promotion, prevention, treatment/intervention and rehabilitation. This encompasses physical, psychological, emotional, and social well being.

Physiotherapy Consultations
At the initial consultation, your physiotherapist will:
- listen to your history and ask about your specific goals so that any treatment can be tailored to your individual needs
- provide a full assessment, diagnosis and explanation of the findings
- discuss all treatment options and give you the opportunity to ask questions and determine your preferred treatment pathway.
- arrange further imaging investigations if required to help with diagnosis
- arrange onward referral to another health professional or medical specialist if required
Initial consultations are 1 hour, and follow-up appointments are 30 mins, unless otherwise arranged. The number of follow-up appointments needed will depend on your condition. Our highly trained and experienced team will give you an estimate of the number and frequency of appointments required at your initial consultation.
ACC Claims
We are happy to see all patients regardless of ACC claim status.
We are happy to see all patients regardless of ACC claim status.
- If you have a current ACC claim, bring your claim details with you, or we can request details from ACC.
- If you do not have an ACC claim, but your condition is the result of an injury, you can complete an ACC form at your Physiotherapy appointment.
- If your ACC cover for physiotherapy treatments has expired (usually after 12 months, or after a certain number of physiotherapy treatments), it may be possible to apply for additional treatments. A report fee applies for these applications and acceptance cannot be guaranteed. Discuss this with your physiotherapist. If the application is declined, treatment can still be provided under private treatment services.
